Tricor (Fenofibrate): Lipid Management in Clinical Practice - An Evidence-Based Review

Product Description Tricor (fenofibrate) is a fibric acid derivative approved for the management of dyslipidemia, specifically targeting elevated triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol. It’s one of those drugs that’s been around long enough that we sometimes forget how nuanced it actually is. The micronized formulation changed everything when it came out - before that, bioavailability was frankly terrible and patients needed massive doses that caused GI issues constantly. The standard dose runs 48mg to 145mg daily depending on renal function, and it’s available as tablets or capsules.
